Keeping up with the final season
MON. | 2-22-21 | ENTERTAINMENT
Keeping Up With The Kardashians, a classic reality TV favorite, has been cancelled after 14 years on the air. The show began, Oct 14. 2007, following Kris Jenner and her husband Bruce (now Kaitlyn) through their crazy lifestyle of raising five daughters: Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. The 20th and final season will air beginning on Thursday, Mar. 18.
Without this show, the Kardashian-Jenners would not be where they are today. Keeping Up With The Kardashians first premiered in 2007 when the oldest daughter, Kourtney was 28 and the youngest daughter, Kylie was 10. However, my favorite character in the show is Scott Disick, Kourtney’s husband and now ex-husband. He always came prepared on the show with some one-liners that would no matter what make me laugh. For example, he was driving down the highway and saw a billboard of witches and of course the first thing that came to his mind was “Look it’s the Kardashian sisters.” Without a doubt, he would have at least one of the Kardashians mad at him every episode. I had so many laughs watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians during its time on the air. There was always some high class event, a fight within the family and tears to complete every episode.
One of my favorite moments was one of the times when Kim and Khloe got in a fight. This was back when Kim was making more money than the rest of the sisters and she wanted to buy a new Bentley with her new found income. At the dealership, one of the employees was being noticeably rude to Khloe and Kourtney and when Kim didn’t stand up for them, it started sisterly drama. Khloe, being the candid person she is, was talking badly about Kim, which Kim overheard. Naturally, the .

only thing that could come next was Kim proceeding to hit Khloe with her bag continuously- this is reality television after all.
Despite the controversy concerning whether or not the Kardashian women have any real talent, one thing is for sure: they had the attention of all of the drama junkies across America. The show reached its peak during the season four finale with a total of 4.8 million viewers. This kind of publicity gave the Kardashians the ability to do pretty much whatever they wanted. Because of their TV fame, the Kardashian-Jenners have accomplished a lot. For example, Kim started her own beauty company, Kylie Jenner released a cosmetic line, Kylie and Kendall had a clothing line and so much more. This goes to show how much influence this family has over the public.
As a dedicated watcher to all of the scandals and drama that occur on every episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it is going to be very sad to see this show go. No more insane family vacations, no more babies being named after random nouns, and most importantly, no more sidebar interviews where you can always find one of the Kardashian-Jenner members talking behind each other’s backs. This show provided hysterical one-liners used in many households today and let viewers at home feel like they had the inside scoop into the lives of some of the most famous celebrities in the world. Keeping Up With The Kardashians was iconic and will be dearly missed
