Corpse Husband grows horrifically

The world of YouTube creators is huge. According to Brandwatch, over 500 hours of videos are posted everyday and over one billion hours are watched. It’s safe to say that YouTube is a platform being viewed 24/7. It’s to the point where some creators are praised as celebrities, and when hearing the names of some, such as PewDiePie, JackSepticEye or Tyler Oakley, it would probably be easy to get a mental picture of what they look like.
However, there are some YouTubers on the platform that prefer to stay anonymous. One YouTuber has recently grown to the top of people’s watch lists, but the thing is, no one knows what he looks like nor his real name, and that YouTuber is known as Corpse Husband.

accumulated over 5 million subscribers. Husband began his channel by making horror-related content where he would read scary true stories and soon began reading fans submitted content. The number of viewers soon began to rise from a little over ten thousand to millions when he was featured in a PewDiePie and JackSepticEye video, on Sept. 9, where they are shown playing the recently popular game, Among Us. On Sept. 27, Husband began to release Among Us videos of his own, and he has since been featured with many other YouTubers, such as ValkyRae, Disguised Toast, James Charles and Mr. Beast.
Since his increase in following, many fans have been messaging Husband, and asking him for a face reveal. In an interview with Anthony Padilla for his video, “I Spent a Day with Faceless YouTubers,” Husband mentioned how there was a lot of anxiety behind showing his face on the internet. He has said that there is a lot of fear in not living up to the expectations of what people think he looks like, and with such a large following, it would be hard going out.
Husband also stated in the Padilla interview that it’s better when it comes to his content. People can get their own idea of what he looks like and use their imagination more. Husband has stated that if people knew what he looked like, it would take the scariness away from his stories. Honestly, I would continue to enjoy Husband’s content even if he didn’t do a face reveal. I like being able to have my own mental picture of the narrator of the stories. It also helps me to continue feeling the creepy vibe of his narrations.
This vibe has been carefully developed since his first video, "Last Friday" in 2015. In the beginning, I feel that he rushed the narration a bit, but once you hear his more recent stories, he sounds very different. Not only have his narrations improved, but his voice changed a lot.
Husband has a condition known as Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). According to Medical News Today writer Justin Choi, GERD is a long-term condition where acid from the stomach comes up into the esophagus. If not treated properly, it could eventually lead to throat cancer. One symptom of GERD that Husband is very well known for is his deep voice. Fans have gone as far as to romanticize him for this. I don’t think this is an okay thing to do. GERD is a very serious condition, and it should not be fetishized. I think people should focus more on his content and less on his voice.
Having a unique voice, however, has allowed Husband to begin an additional career as a musician. His first song released onto Spotify was called “Miss YOU!” Husband’s music consists of trap music and emo rap. Recently, he has released a track on YouTube called, “Agoraphobic” which has more of a lo-fi tone and is a bit softer than his other songs. I love this track because it’s very soothing. It’s a perfect addition to his amazing content.
Husband’s growth on YouTube is unbelievable to say the least. He has since admitted in his first Among Us video that if it hadn't been for PewDiePie and other big YouTubers, he probably wouldn’t have the following that he has today. I think that his recognition of other YouTubers has allowed more people to enjoy his astounding content. The Corpse Husband YouTube channel is perfect for anyone wanting to hear a good horror story, listen to emo rap, or watch Among Us lets plays.
