Chicken Salad Chick opens

FRI.| 5-17-24 | ENTERTAINMENT

In recent years, Greenville has begun to expand its horizons with new activities and restaurants as this town is growing rapidly in front of our eyes. There have been plenty of new local and chain restaurants with all sorts of foods, but one that I have never heard of opened this month, Chicken Salad Chick.

Chicken Salad Chick started in Auburn, Alabama in 2008 and has since grown their franchise to consist of over 200 stores. I was anxious to try this place and I honestly didn't know what to expect. When new restaurants come to town, I know the drill when it comes to the crazy lines. With that being said, I waited it out the first week because it was jam-packed with cars wrapped around the corner of the drive-through and so many customers inside.

The one downside of the location is that it's at such a weird angle. It is in one of the busiest spots in Greenville, yet the sign of the restaurant isn't facing traffic, instead, it's located inside of the shopping center. With this location, it's kind of confusing to maneuver getting to the restaurant and the drive-through.

On the upside, the menu has a wide variety of options to choose from but if you are like others and myself looking for a meal, the best way to go is with “The Chicks”, which is a tray with a sandwich or scoop of chicken salad and a side. Although I am a huge chicken salad fan and loved theirs, I would most definitely try the pimento cheese sandwich. I had this in my meal and it was perfect.

However, if you are super set on trying their different chicken salad, there is an array of different sandwiches and chicken salads to try. You can have some with onions all the way to apples in it, and by the looks of reviews, you can't really go wrong with any flavor.

If you are looking for a new lunch spot in the middle of town, I highly recommend Chicken Salad Chick located off Red Banks Road. You can not go wrong with a simple sandwich or a scoop of chicken salad.
