Twins are often very rare in life; in fact, less than two percent of births in America are twins. Despite the slim chances, sophomores Jaclyn and Jaden Buckman share a lifelong bond as twins.
The Buckman twins have shown their bond clearly to the people around them while their individual personalities shine with unique differences and similarities.
“Jaclyn’s really fun personality-wise; she's always really happy; she's never really sad even if she's having a bad day,” sophomore Mia Tyson said. “Jaden is super determined; he will put his full potential into everything he does.”
Jaclyn and Jaden express their differences and similarities with their hobbies, education and love for sports.
“In some things, we are more alike… in sports, we both like soccer,” Jaden said. “We're different in general by dislikes and likes.”

Both Jaclyn and Jaden participate in several extracurriculars including Student Government Association, and Future Business Leaders of America. Jaden often plays striker, and Jaclyn plays defense on Rose’s soccer teams. Being a common interest between them, soccer has played a large part in their lives by growing their relationships and skills.
“Sometimes he’ll shoot on me, or we’ll pass,” Jaclyn said. “[Our relationship] would be different [if we didn’t both play soccer].”
The Buckman twins have made a clear rivalry with each other and challenge each other on different everyday activities, often having to do with soccer and training. The competition strengthens their relationship and helps them push each other to be the best version of themselves.
“[We have been in a lot] of competitions,” Jaden said. “[The competition makes us closer] and mostly the competitions are sports-related.”
There is always some sort of tension between siblings, and with the Buckman twins, it can be found in many things. Despite this, Jaden and Jaclyn are able to find strength and comfort with each other.
“Since we have our key differences, we just argue a lot,” Jaclyn said. “I think if we weren't twins, I wouldn't just go and apologize and do stuff like that.”
Both have shown dedication to their own hobbies while finding the time to support the other throughout their lives
“If she would ever be in any trouble, I’d be there for her,” Jaden said.
Throughout high school the twins have helped each other to develop the expertise needed for their future. After school Jaclyn and Jaden show interest in different pathways for their individual lives. Jaclyn hopes to be an orthodontist, and Jaden looks to be a physician or an engineer.
Despite their different plans for the future, neither of them can see themselves becoming distant from each other.
“[Our bond] wouldn't change at all,” Jaclyn said. “[We would still] talk every day.”
Jaclyn and Jaden show support for each other and grow together. Being twins has given them a strong bond and a sense of competition to help them achieve their goals in the upcoming years.
